Local magician David Croucher mystified, entertained and amused the audience at our Christmas Members Evening. His combination of baffling illusions and witty asides were just what was needed to get us all in the mood for the festivities. The entertainment was followed by delicious turkey pies and dessert. To round things off we had a table quiz and a few carols.

Our February Members Evening attracted a goodly number of members, including some new ones who were made most welcome, and their guests. The main feature of the evening was an outstanding talk by Julian Hoad on the trials and tribulations of life as a vetinary surgeon. This was followed by a fish and chip supper for all. At the end of the evening Angela Sloan gave us the answers to her railway-themed table quiz, and the raffle was drawn. Angela brought the event to a close by thanking all the many people who had helped to make it such a great success and presented Geofrey Steward with presents to mark the end of his term of office as Chairman. Margaret Watton was presented with flowers. She is retiring from active participation after many years serving the society as actor, director, committee member, photographer and archivist.
