Our Christmas Members Evening comprised a Quiz, hosted for us by Quizmaster Peter and his wife. We sucked our pencils and racked our brains over the questions, and one team emerged triumphant at the end.
In the interval between the questions and the answers, our traditional Christmas supper of turkey pie with gravy and peas was served. This tasty feast was followed by a dessert we'd not had before, chocolate ice cream lollies. These were certainly a hit with the audience.

We did something a little different for for our August Members Evening, which was also the 75 Anniversary of the society's founding. Angela Sloan and Julian Hoad supervised a group reading of Richard Harris' cricketing play OUTSIDE EDGE. All those who wished to read did so, and it great to hear again the machinations of the cricket team and their supporters.
The reading was followed by supper, and the cutting of the 75th Anniversary cake by our Honorary President, Hermin Daley. The cake was made for us by PaAt Arculus.

We had a delightful February Members Evening in 2024. The main feature was the premiere of Jean Trew's Julia Needs Pizzazz. Jean is a member of WCDS and we have presented her work several times with great success. This play was no exception, involving a writer who is confronted not only by her literary agent, but by two of the characters from her books. The first is an accountant who wants to try wing-walking so as not to be boring, and eventually morphs into Wonder Woman. The second, unaccountably, is a Marmoset named Mille.
The production was directed by Amanda Hislop. Angela Sloan, Elizabeth Ling, Sue Goble and Pat Arculus formed the cast. The performance was followed by a convivial evening with supper, raffle, and the presentation of The Chairman's Challenge Cup for 2023 to Ralph Wigg.
