Our Christmas Members Evening combined a mix of sketches and songs, which was well received by an audience of some sixty members and guests. The evening began with Jean Trew's sketch Panto does The Apprentice. Iszy Hoad then sang I'm Not That Girl from Wicked. John Brooks gave us a monologue and a song from the Bay of Naples, being joined by Julian Hoad for Tom Lehrer's A Christmas Carol. Ian Stuart sang On the Streets Where You Live from My Fair Lady and Stars from Les Misérables. John Pounder and Julian then sat drinking tea whilst performing Peter Cook's sketch The Facts of Life. Lisa Falkner, Iszy Hoad, Mike Nicholson and Rob Pearson sang a four-part carol and Andrew Whitehead gave us his own Christmas Song. Julian Hoad sang George Gershwin, Karen and Miq Kelland sang two folk songs, and the show was rounded up by Lisa Falkner singing Joni Mitchell's River.
The entertainment was followed by turkey pies and dessert , the answers to the Christmas Quiz, the raffle prizes and a couple of carols. We all definitely got in the mood for Christmas.

Our summer Members Evening featured a spirited presentation of Murder in an Indecent Manor by Chris Martin. Each table was given a document pack containing some vital clues to digest before the play began. The play itself was well-acted and lively, but inevitably caused much head-scratching amongst those present. Our actors were Holly Fulbrook, Amanda Hislop, Denise Robinson, Jill Scott-Kerr and Ben Vallely.
We had an excellent Ploughman's Supper, after which the murderer and accomplice were revealed in Act 2 of the play. A good time was had by all.

Two heritage guides show vistors round the ancient stones; they say they are hoping to get a special feeling from being at the special site. A hippie girl invites Thomas, the most sceptical visitor, to return at night to watch the dawn. Druids appear and fun ensues.
The cast for Stones was Elizabeth Ling as Flick, Holly Fulbrook as Tanya, Rob Ingram as Alan, David Johnson as Arlo, Janet Methley as Janice, Ian Stuart as Thomas, and John Pounder as Jack. The performance was followed by the usual social evening with supper, raffle, and the presentation of The Chairman's Challenge Cup for 2024 to Ralph Wigg. Three of our members worked tirelessly in the kitchen: Sue Burroughs, Viv Stuart and Christine Pearson.
